Celebrate the life and legacy of Joe Gans, the first African American world boxing champion by exploring the city he called home. This scavenger hunt takes participants through historic landmarks, cultural sites, and hidden gems across Baltimore that tell the story of Gans’ remarkable rise from local talent to international legend.


Participants will follow a series of clues that lead them to key moments in Gans’ life, from the site of his famous Goldfield Hotel to his final resting place at Mount Auburn Cemetery. Along the way, you'll learn about his boxing triumphs, community contributions, and lasting impact on sports and civil rights.
